You don't remember how you got to this old house when you wake up. This time, you have to deal with Granny, Grandpa, their scary niece Slendrina, and Granny. All three of them are hiding in the dark. You have five days to get out of the house, but every room is dangerous.
Lots of new things have been added to Granny 3, like smarter enemies, a darker game mode (with a torch), a Christmas theme, two new escape routes and a lot of setting choices.
In Granny Horror 3, you have to stay alive against three enemies that act in different ways in different parts of the house. Granny reacts to sounds like dropped items and floorboards creaking, so it's important to be careful when moving around.
Grandpa uses his shotgun to attack players who can be seen, so hiding and staying out of his line of sight can help you stay safe. Slendrina comes out of nowhere in dark hallways, and quickly turning your eyes away helps stop her effects from distorting your vision.
There are also environmental traps you can use, hide under beds, or go into wardrobes to get away from enemies that are after you.
To escape, you have to go through different rooms and find items that let you into new places. Keys, spark plugs, weapons, and building parts needed for progression may be hidden in drawers, cabinets, and other places.
In environmental puzzles, there are locked gates, security hurdles, power systems, and other ways to get out. The Teddy bear also starts special interactions and secret missions that make the exploration more interesting. You only have five days to find a way out, so you need to make the most of what you've found.
There are five levels of challenge for the game: Practice, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme. In Practice mode, you can explore without having to worry about enemies, and in Easy mode, enemies move more slowly and the floorboards stop moving. As the difficulty goes up, more difficult encounters appear that require more stealth and faster decision-making. You can choose whether Granny, Grandpa, or both show up in the custom settings. You can also turn Slendrina on or off. One more choice is to skip the intro. Other choices include limping and nightmare effects.
One thing at a time is all you can hold. Pick a safe, quiet, and easy-to-remember place to put your things while you go get something else. Make sure your tools are in a place that is easy to get to later.
You can look around the room without Granny seeing you right away when she walks by by closing the doors. She might still come in if you make noise, but you'll have more time to do something about it.
If you are being chased, beds, closets, and rooms are great places to hide. Keep these spots in mind as you look around the house.
You will get stuck in a bear trap, which leaves you open to attack and wastes time. Look at the ground.
